Microsoft Office Apps Have Arrived On Quest

Meta Quest users can now access Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint from their standalone VR headsets. They haven’t been released as native apps in the Quest store but as progressive web apps (PWAs), offering a more convenient way to use these tools in VR.

You still require an internet connection and, at the same time, an active Microsoft Office subscription that costs $7/month. You can also connect your Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to work in a mixed-reality environment.

This integration means regular users can work on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations within their VR environment, enhancing productivity and multitasking capabilities in a virtual space

PSVR

Resident Evil 4 VR Mode Launches on PSVR 2 with Free Demo

After ‘Resident Evil Village’ won the VR category at the Game Awards this month, the franchise has come up with another update cementing its belief in the future of VR gaming.

The highly anticipated VR mode for the "Resident Evil 4" remake is now available on PSVR 2 as a free download. While a VR version of Resident Evil 4 has been available on Quest since late 2021, a complete remake of the game with modern graphics was released earlier this year.

And this week, Capcom released a free VR mode for the game on PSVR 2, offering the most immersive way to play. This immersive adaptation offers a first-person perspective, contrasting with the third-person view in non-VR mode. For regular gamers, this means experiencing a classic horror shooter in a more intense and engaging VR format, bringing a new level of immersion to the game.

META

Quest 3 Upgrades Coming For Asgard 2

Asgard's Wrath 2, Meta’s most ambitious VR gaming project as of yet, was released last week amidst great fanfare from the gaming community. Many said it’s one of the best games in the history of stand-alone VR.

The main criticism, though, was that it was still optimized for the Quest 2, not the latest Quest 3. This was a big downer for buyers as the $60 game came FREE with the Quest 3, and many paid the $500 price tag for the latest headset just for this. Angry buyers even rated the game as 1 star just because the game is not optimised for Quest 3.

The studio has acknowledged the online outrage, and on Saturday they announced on Reddit that "initial Quest 3 visual enhancements" are coming soon.
